Every child needs a hero. Every child needs someone they can look up to for encouragement and love. This hero comes from the person they are in close contact with every day of conical twin-screw and barrel suppliers their lives. Kids need someone who can believe in them no matter what, one who will be there for them in times when they have done well in their school work or some co-curricular activity, and when they feel they have failed. Kids need to associate with someone they are in touch with.
This hero needs to understand the child as they are with their strengths and weaknesses and should not be the television "hero" who is just a creation of another person and is not real. Television "heroes" are just a fantasy which should be encouraged only as entertainment and not a way of life. Who then is better for the title and responsibility of a hero than a teacher? Having jobs in education is encouraging and noble. Teaching is the noblest profession which needs a special calling and an interest in the lives and welfare of children. It is about nurturing and moulding the next generation.
Jobs in education are more than just showing up in a class and teaching mathematics or science. It is about understanding each child's strengths and weaknesses and then nurturing their holistic growth towards their day to day growth. Kids have a big capacity to learn, their brains are open to every opportunity of learning and they consequently learn a lot from what they are taught and most importantly what they see. Children tend to copy what they see their parents and teachers do. We are in the era of information. There is so much information out there thatthe children are exposed to.
Most of this information cannot be trusted for ourchildren, and sure enough the kids are looking for information that they canidentify with. This then calls for someone to moderate this information forthem, to advise them which is good and that which is bad. The teacher is thebest moderator because he/she is the major source of knowledge for the kids. All the teacher needs to do is tell them what is good and that which is notgood for their consumption.
Education is a holistic growth process for everychild. Education is not only in the Mathematics and science subjects, but it isthe nurturing of all facets of growth of a child, be it socially, mentally andemotionally. This is how we ensure that we mould a future generation which isall round. A teacher then plays a pivotal role in ensuring this growth.I believe it is a privilege to have jobs in education. It is a tremendoushonour to be a big part of a child's growth and development especially when youare not the parent or guardian. We all as grown-ups were nurtured in one way oranother by people with jobs in education. We are who we are partly because ateacher taught us well and believed in us.
